city from McNally High School grounds are endlessly fascinating.
The city is a most fascinating organism with its buildings and streets
and lights and shadows and ravines and river and peoples; and it’s never
the same. It’s constantly changing as the sun moves across
the sky and the light of the day goes from blazing hot to subtle cool
and then darkness, when a whole other set of visual delights take over".

"On a sunny morning
the skyline of Edmonton lights up in golds and yellows as seen here
observed from the east near McNally High School. I’ve just begun to
return to a subject which fascinated me while I was teaching art at
McNally High School, whose fields and grounds perched on the bank of
the North Saskatchewan River with an unobstructed view across the
river to the spectacular skyline of Edmonton. With this renewed
interest in the city, I intend to explore with my camera and
watercolours the hundreds of stunning perspectives in this my city
in the coming months. So keep your eyes open for a totally new look
at this beautiful northern city"
" The Berendon Glacier just a few miles outside
of Stewart, BC, has not yet experienced too much recession
because of the enormous amounts of snow falling along the coast
every winter. To get there one must drive into Alaska via the
sleepy town of Hyder and then back into British Columbia on a
perilous gravel road which yields stunning views of this and the
neighbouring world famous Salmon Glacier from high above each of
them. A remarkable and worthy destination for anyone craving
adventure"
"Once Famous Now
Almost Forgotten " by Gregg Johnson
Found this beautifully weathered old Model A on a friend’s
property. It had the motor removed and was sitting on blocks, but
it still had character, something often lacking in newer vehicles.
"The Maligne River
exits Maligne Lake and hurries along for a few miles before emptying
into Medicine Lake and then underground through the karsts until it
surfaces eventually just before the Maligne Canyon, where it displays a
final fury before joining the Athabasca River".
"On a grey day the pond
in early winter with ice forming on its surface in random patterns is a
place of true solitude. The water and forest are dark and the
reflections are a myriad shades of grey and black and white. And the
mood is one of stillness and slumber, and the absence of moose tells us
that they have retreated deep into the woods".
